Schuylkill driver faces charges after crash

A Schuylkill County driver escaped serious injury and is facing charges following this one-vehicle crash that occurred about 11:10 p.m. yesterday. State police at Frackville said Wayne F. Baker, 57, of MaryD, was driving a 1992 Mazda Protege northbound on TR505 in Schuylkill Township, approaching the intersection with Hollow Avenue. He lost control of the car, which left the road and overturned, coming to rest on its roof on Hollow Road. Baker left the scene, troopers said, but was later found at his residence. He will receive several traffic violations for the crash. Assisting state police at the scene were members of the Tamaqua Rescue Squad and the Tuscarora Fire Company.
