Evans finished as the champion of his weight class by going 4-0 on the day with two pins, a medical forfeit and a decision over a state qualifier from a year ago.Zac Graver also won his individual weight class at 170, earning a pin, a tech fall, a decision and a medical forfeit.Zack Christman finished second at 152, after he went 4-1 on the day with two majors, a pin and a tech fall.Jared Mooney, a freshman, wrestling at 160, managed a pin over a district place winner from one season ago as well.Palmerton will next return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Palisades to open up Colonial League competition.Lehighton, Northern Lehigh at Bullet InvitationalLehighton and Northern Lehigh both battled at the highly touted Bullet Invitational over the weekend.The Bulldogs came home with a fourth place finish as a team, while the Indians ended up in eight.Colton Rex (106) and Nate Farber (160) led the Bulldogs with second place honors, while Ryan Farber (138), Austin Arnold (170) and Cameron Kates (heavyweight) followed with third place finishes. Teammate CJ Young (145) grabbed a fourth place finish, while Matt Schmall (132), Stephan Scheib (195) and Jason Schaffer (220) all sported a fifth place medal.Connor Frey (182) led the Indians with a second place finish, while teammates Zach Kemmerer (120) and Tyler Cann (160) grabbed third place honors. Dominik Mystkowski (170) picked up a fifth place medal.Tamaqua in Bloomsburg TournamentThe Tamaqua Blue Raiders got their season started on Saturday at the Bloomsburg DKI Tournament.Colin Mashack (126) and Dylan Rynkiewicz were the top performers on the day for the Raiders, both going 3-1. All three of Mashack's wins came by pin.Tanner McHugh also had a nice day for the Raiders, going 3-2 on the day and Collin Moyer put forth a solid effort going 3-3.Northwestern at Nazareth InvitationalNorthwestern opened the season with a seventh place team finish in the Nazareth Invitational.Ryan Dengler (113 pounds) highlighted the Tigers visit to the tournament with a third place finish.Alex Russo (182) fell just short of a placing in the individual tourament.
