Slatington Tree Lighting

The annual Slatington Tree Lighting event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Slatington Memorial Park, 509 Main St., Slatington, across from the Slatington Baptist Church.All are welcome to join the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce for an evening of socializing and celebrating the holiday season as a community. There will be hot chocolate and cookies while listening to caroling led by the Northern Lehigh Freedom Chorus.Prior to the lighting of the tree, Santa will arrive by fire truck for photos with the kids.The group will be collecting unwrapped toys for the Tots For Tots program. Please bring an unwrapped toy that will benefit a Lehigh Valley child.Slatington Lions ClubThe Slatington Lions Club will hold a board meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Skeet Club.Lions celebrating birthday this month include Simon Bandzi (Dec. 1) and Rod LaBarre (Dec. 2).
