An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held in Tamaqua on Friday, Sept. 20, at St. John United Church of Christ on Pine Street. Hours will be from 1-6 p.m.
Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds, and is in good general health is eligible to donate.

The Schuylkill Penn State Master Gardeners will sponsor a "Walk in the Garden" program at the Master Gardener Trial and Demonstration Garden on Route 61 in Schuylkill Haven. The event will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Sept. 7.
The walk will include an introduction to the 16 varieties of coral bells (Heuchera) that have been planted, as well as a stroll around the newly-constructed rain garden.
Cameras are permitted and gardening questions will be answered.
This event is free and open to the public. While there are no fees, pre-registration is advised.

The Tamaqua YMCA is now accepting registrations for fall swim lessons and for the 2013-2014 Jack and Jill Preschool program. Applications are availale at the Y welcome center in the former Jamesway Plaza.
Swim lessons will begin on Sept. 16.

Sunday worship services are held at 9:30 a.m. in St. John United Church of Christ. The weekly radio broadcast is aired at 11:30 a.m., every Sunday, on WLSH Radio, AM station 1410.
A free exerette fitness program, designed for the young at heart, is offered at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St., every Tuesday and Thursday. The sessions will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. and will feature gentle exercises designed to enhance posture, improve balance and increase flexibility.
