Strawberry Playhouse

The Strawberry Playhouse will celebrate 10 years of live entertainment on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Plans for the day include the Strawberries Players singing show tunes, refreshments, games, vendors and more, including a book signing by Strawberry Players' actor Bobby Maso.Admission to the event is free.It was 10 years ago, on Sept. 9, 2003, that Lucille L. Falé-Brennan finalized the purchase of the old Zion Church in Tuscarora.Falé-Brennan has actively promoted theater and the arts in Carbon and Schuylkill counties for the past 17 years.She was instrumental in the formation of the Actor's Guild of Schuylkill County and directed more than 20 productions as the drama adviser at Blue Mountain High School.The Strawberry Playhouse had produced over 51 shows, musicals, dramas, comedies, cabarets and special events, including Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, Bus Stop, A Streetcar Named Desire, View from the Bridge, Alice in Wonderland and Tom Sawyer.The playhouse also offers an annual production of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.The Strawberry Playhouse, located at 60 Church St., Tuscarora, offers adult and young actor workshops throughout the year.For more information about the event or the Strawberry Playhouse, call (570) 325-4368 or email Falé-Brennan at
