At top, Dahlia Martin, left, and Mary Andrew view a capriciously placed, ironic "Open House" sign resting atop the remains of a home demolished on Route 903 at the intersection of North Street and West Front Street on the east side of Jim Thorpe, to make way for a new bridge across the Lehigh River. The house is the most recent to be razed of approximately eight homes acquired by PennDOT in the vicinity of the bridge egress. Right, the house at 103 North St. was marked for demolition with the graffitilike lettering "PA1" painted upon its face. Workers at the site razed the building yesterday.
