A Monroe County man is facing a charge of burglary and a related count following an incident that occurred about 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to 4393 Upper Smith Gap Road, in Ross Township, for a report of a burglary in progress. On scene troopers met the victim, Elmer Seiler, 81, near the back garage door of the home. He said someone was inside his home.Troopers entered the home and found Philip Seiler, 25, of 4437 Upper Smith Gap Road, who was identified as the grandson of the victim.Philip Seiler was taken into custody and charged with burglary and criminal trespass, troopers said.
