The August Women in Business luncheon will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Carbon County Chamber and Economic Development office, 137 South St., Lehighton. The speaker will be Marie D'Amato, donor resources representative for Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Food will be provided by Cutie Pies Catering. Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at 5 p.m., Aug. 3. The Rev. Michael Frost, pastor at Zion's Stone Church, New Ringgold, will preside.
Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost worship with Holy Communion is at 9 a.m. The Rev. Donald Hayn, interim pastor, will preside. The church is air-conditioned. Aug. 4 is also "Scholarship Sunday" at Trinity. Financial gifts will be presented to students entering schools of higher learning. Seminarian recipients will take part in the liturgy. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
First Tuesday Quiet Communion is at 10 a.m. Aug. 6.
Coming up Aug. 11 at the beginning of the worship service is a recap from the group of 19 youth and advisers on their post-Hurricane Sandy mission trip in New Jersey.
Trinity's council Vice President Connie Kistler and husband, Richard lost their Mahoning Township home recently to a fire. The "Kistler Family Fire Fund" has been established at KNBT/National Penn Bank inside the Giant grocery store, Mahoning Township. For those who desire to help the Kistler's, deposits may be made into this account; the last three digits are 950.

Lehighton Bible Church news
Lehighton Bible Church has the following upcoming activities.
Sunday Aug. 3, guest speaker Brother Mario Indino, a Missionary in Papua New Guinea, will share his mission; services will be held at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Saturday Aug. 10, church members will be participating at Lehighton Bike Night from noon until 9 p.m.
The congregation will offer a hymn sing on Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Mahoning Valley Nursing Home.
Sunday Aug. 25, the church will offer combined services with Pastor Mike Marcheskie and the Shamokin Bible Church at Lehighton Bible Church at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
