Rainy weather halts the construction of Palmerton's brand new, $1.2 million fire station early this morning. The three-bay station will be built in the borough lot at Fifth Street and Lehigh Avenue. Originally expected to be completed by Sept. 30, the fire station is now slated to be finished by the first week of November, due to delays in the process of steel design and manufacturing, borough manager Rodger Danielson said.
