Volunteers giving timeto community giveaway

Volunteers from all over Schuylkill County have come together together in support of this Tamaqua's Community Donation Drop-Off and Free Giveaway event planned for Saturday morning.

Members of the Tamaqua Volunteers community initiative group are looking for donations of clothing, toys, tools, electronics, holiday decorations, pots/pans/dishes, cookware, furniture, appliances and anything else you don't want to throw away or wouldn't mind parting with.They will accept practically anything, no matter how small or large. Anybody can donate. The only items not accepted are old computer monitors and floor-model televisions.Drop off all donations on Saturday April 27 between the hours of 8 and 9 a.m. at the M and M Storage Facility on Rose Street (next to Schickram's Car Wash). Volunteers stress that they are not able to pick up or store donations.Any Tamaqua resident wanting to receive donations is encouraged to be there by 9 a.m. for the donation giveaway scheduled to start at 9:15 a.m. sharp. All items will then be given away free to residents via a simple and fair drawing. In case of rain or chance of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday, April 28 (same times).For more information, visit the event on Facebook or call (570) 668-1234.
