Northwestern baseball team gets CL win

Northwestern picked up a Colonial League baseball win as the lone successful scholastic sports team on Friday.

BASEBALLPleasant Vy.-StroudsburgStroudsburg's Mike Nikorak tossed a one-hit shutout and also delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift host Stroudsburg to a 1-0 Mountain Valley Conference victory.With two outs in the eighth, Nikorak singled home TJ Backer to end the Bears' nine-game winning streak and spoil an outstanding pitching performance by Dan Hrbek.Hrbek went the distance, allowing six hits and four walks while striking out nine.
