Marian earned a sweep in Schuylkill League track action Thursday while the Colts baseball team also posted a victory.

In other action, the Northwestern girls swept a Colonial League tri-meet while the Pleasant Valley tennis team earned a shutout.

Nativity-Marian

The Marian track squad got a nice win on Thursday afternoon over division rival Nativity.

The Colts and Fillies swept the Hilltoppers for the Schuylkill League Division 2 victory, with many Marian athletes performing well on the day.

Dylan Quirk (100, high jump, 400 relay), and Nico Agosti (200, 1,600, and 3,200 relay) were the top dogs on the day for the Colts, each winning three events.

On the Girls side MaryKate Sherkness dominated in the jumping events. Sherkness placed first in the long jump, high jump and triple jump, along with helping the 3,200 meter relay team place first as well.

Saucon Valley-Wilson

The Northwestern girls swept past Saucon Valley and Wilson while the Tiger boys earned a split against the two schools in a Colonial League tri-meet.

Lauren Anderson copped both the 100 and 200, while Katie Cappuccino won the two hurding events. The girls defeated Wilson 102-48 and topped Saucon Valley 103 -46 .

In the boys meet, Tyler Stelmack (1600, 3200) and Austin Weiss (110 hurdles, high jump) were both double winners for the Tigers, who topped Saucon Valley 106-44 but fell to Wilson 78-72.

Northern Lehigh-Palisades-Bangor

It was a tough day on the track for Northern Lehigh as they were swept in both boys and girls action on Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs' Caleb Johnson was a bright spot for Northern Lehigh. Johnson did some damage in three events , placing first in the 400 meters, 110 high hurdles, and high jump.

The Lady 'Dawgs had two athletes finish second on the day with Alexis Markle taking second in the long jump and Jessical Olewine placing second in the triple jump.

Pleasant Valley cleaned up the courts with Pocono Mountain West, winning 7-0 in MVC play.

All three of the Bears' singles players, Jon White, Jon Walmach and Stevie Berry, all won in straight sets without losing a game.

With runners on second and third with two outs, Nick Kweder got a pop up to the catcher to end the game.

Eric Swankoski had two hits to lead the Colts (1-1, 1-1), while Anthony Agosti and Nick Kweder each added RBI singles.
