A vehicle stop in Tamaqua on Saturday afternoon, March 30, resulted in two citations for the operator of a Ford Explorer.
Patrolman Matthew Houser was on patrol at 4:40 p.m. when he observed the Explorer, which did not have an inspection sticker, traveling west on Broad Street. He stopped the vehicle in the area of Hunter and Broad streets, identifying the driver as Melvin Scott, 46, of Tobyhanna. A routine records check indicated that Scott's vehicle registration had been suspended due to lack of insurance.
He was issued citations for operating a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and for driving with a suspended registration.
