Tamaqua Volunteers hold free Tamaqua monthly giveaway

Members of the Tamaqua Volunteers community initiative group held their monthly donation collection and free giveaway over the weekend in Tamaqua.

People were encouraged to drop of any household items for the giveway scheduled the same day. Event coordinator Andrew Leibenguth stated his appreciation to all the donators and fellow volunteers for making the event a success. He also stated his appreciation to Thorn's Cycles and the Moyer family for the use of the storage containers and grounds.Next month's donation drop-off and free giveway is scheduled for Saturday, October 20. The group is asking people to drop off all donations that day between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the storage facility next to Schickram's Car Wash located on Rose Street in Tamaqua. They are looking for all types of donations of clothing, toys, tools, appliances, furniture and any other clean items.All items will then be given free to Tamaqua residents via a simple drawing. Any Tamaqua resident wanting to receive donations is encouraged to be there before 9 a.m. for the donation giveaway scheduled for 9:15 a.m.If it is raining Saturday morning, the event will be held Sunday instead.
