Board of Health

The September meeting of the Tamaqua Board of Health was held at the municipal building with Randolph Gormley, James Gormley, Earl Boettger and Shirley Becker in attendance.

Code Enforcement Office Joshua Esposito submitted his report for August, during which time he made two spot check inspections and received and adjusted 10 complaints.

The inspections were conducted at La Dolce Casa and the Tamaqua Diner.

The complaints included: two reported rat infestations; five bug infestations; one feral cat; one neglected swimming pool; and one dog feces complaint. There were no cases of reportable diseases last month.

The board meets the first Wednesday of every month, at 10 a.m., in the Tamaqua Municipal Building.

Members remind residents that placing trash/rubbish out for collection more than 24 hours in advance of scheduled pick up could result in citations and fines.
