Veterans enjoy nostalgic concert

Two dozen World War II veterans from Carbon County, along with their guests/caregivers, attended a luncheon concert show that was fittingly held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.The show featured the "Glenn Miller Orchestra", and was sponsored by Richard and Darlene Nothstein of Palmerton, goodwill ambassadors who have been the driving force behind numerous veterans events over the years.Glenn Miller and his orchestra died during World War II as they were traveling Europe entertaining our troops, noted Richard Nothstein.He said the group was recognized, and thanked, by Lynn Stelling, Penn's Peak group director, before the concert, and all those in attendance gave an "appreciative, enthusiastic, round of applause."Among the World War II Veterans, along with their guests/caregivers, who joined the Nothsteins in attendance were:- Marshall L.
