Join Naturalist Robin Tracey from Tuscarora State Park and conservation volunteer, Dave McSurdy for hike near Swatara State Park at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13.
The trail is four miles in length and difficult. The group will be hiking along the Gold Mine Run and exploring the ruins of an old coal mining town.
Meet off Route 443 in Suedberg on Swopes Valley Road, in Swatara State Park and car pool to the site. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and get along with other pets and people.
