A Tamaqua area community-wide pep rally will be staged Thursday, November 1, from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Five Points fountain at Depot Square Park in support of the Tamaqua Area High School Blue Raiders football team.

The event is being coordinated by volunteers of the Tamaqua Area Football Boosters Association.

The rally is expected to flow onto the adjacent municipal parking lot, according to organizers, and is being held in support of the Tamaqua Area High School varsity football team, currently undefeated and heading into the final regular season game Friday evening at Marian High School.

Organizers said everyone is welcome and the pep rally is free to the public. It will include an agenda of cheers, speakers, and activities, and area fire companies and other first responder units are invited to have apparatus on hand and to turn on their lights and sirens when the team arrives at the Five Points.

Attendees are urged to make signs and wear blue and white Tamaqua apparel, said organizers. Banners, flags and all such visual support of the team is encouraged.

"This has been a great season and we want the Anthracite League Championship! So come help cheer and support our undefeated Blue Raiders," indicated a statement by pep rally organizers.
