Moravian Academy beat Jim Thorpe, 4-1 in a District 11 Class AA boys soccer game yesterday.

The No. 4 seed, Moravian (12-5-1) advances to Tuesday's semifinals to face No. 1 Saucon Valley, which beat Notre Dame (Green Pond) 3-1 yesterday.The No. 5 seed Olympians, which went 12-3 in the Schuylkill League this season, end their season with a 14-5 overall record.The Lions took the early lead in Thursday's quarterfinal when Demitri Tsirukis scored on a Brown assist with 38:22 left in the first half.Thorpe's Corey Ligenza tied the game at 1-1, scoring with 22:46 on an assist from Matt Rich.The Lions the posted three unanswered. Alec Talsania, assisted by Jack Painter, scored with 15:47 left in first half to put his team ahead for good.Brown added the finishing touches, scoring off a Talasania assist with 12:27 left in the first half then capping the scoring with 5:03 left in the game on a Jack McCambridge assist.Olympian keeper Justin Kaminski made 14 saves in the game, while his Moravian counterpart, Alec Kaufman, stopped four.
