Five persons were injured Tuesday night when involved in a grinding head-on crash in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. in the twelve hundred block of Mill Road, just north of Mahoning Drive West. Most of the injured were young adults. Members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics treated the victims at the scene and then transferred them to area hospitals. Mill Road (SR902) was closed for several hours due to the accident. Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
