The following images came to my mind looking at Romney's smiling face during the debates, especially when he denied knowing about jobs being sent overseas. I saw an old time snake oil salesman, the "Robert Preston" character on "Music Man" Mr. Haney on "Green Acres," the Wizard on the "Wizard of Ox," Elmer Gantry. Some old fashioned words, hornswoggled, or snuckered.
