DUI, drug arrests reported

State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests and two arrests on drug charges following traffic stops.

Troopers said about 7:19 p.m. on Oct. 4 Lloyd Edward Eagle Jr., 65, of Saylorsburg, was stopped along Old Route 115, near Cherry Valley Road, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation. At the stop Eagle was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. Charges will be filed, troopers said.On May 27 about 1:15 a.m. troopers stopped Jacob Wertman, 22, of Ashfield, along SR209 southbound in Lehighton, for a equipment violation. Troopers said Wertman was found to have 160 baggies of heroin worth an estimated street value of $1,000, in his possession. He has been charged with DUI of a controlled substance and drug counts.On Oct. 3 about 9:40 p.m. troopers stopped Joseph Alan Bednarchik, 25, of Susquehanna, along SR209 at Long Mountain Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for vehicle code violations. He was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.Troopers said Gary Robert Exner, 49, of Lehighton, was stopped about 10:25 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, along Franklin St., in Weissport, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to have possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
