Tamaqua Salvation Army Majors Sharon Whispell and Margaret Johnson provided the TIMES NEWS with a Salvation Army Media Appreciation Award during their recent volunteer appreciation dinner. Whispell stated, "The TIMES NEWS has always come to the aid of both the community and the Salvation Army." Receiving the award from Whispell for the TIMES NEWS is reporter Andrew Leibenguth of Tamaqua. Leibenguth also serves as a board member and disaster volunteer with the Salvation Army.
