Panther Valley qualified for the District 11 girls voleyball tournament with a win, while Tamaqua and Marian also notched Schuylkill League victories on Monday.

VOLLEYBALL

Jim Thorpe

-Panther Valley

Panther Valley defeated Jim Thorpe in a Schuylkill League game, 15-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-14.

Kristyn Gates led the Panthers (8-3, 7-2) with 21 service points, four aces and 12 digs. Rochelle VanHorn added 13 kills and eight service points. Jessica Weise also added 10 kills. Riley Carroll had 17 assists and two service points for Jim Thorpe. Shannon Green added 11 kills, two blocks and one service point.

Panther Valley also won the JV game, 2-1.

Tri-Valley-Weatherly

In Schuylkill League action, Tri-Valley defeated Weatherly 25-12, 25-4, 25-10.

Hailey Diebert led Tri-Valley with 29 assists.

Lindsey Douglas had one kill, two digs and three assists for Weatherly. Kierstan Ursta chipped in one kill, three digs, one block and five aces.

Tri-Valley also won the JV game, 26-24, 24-26, 25-10.

Tamaqua-Schuy.Haven

Tamaqua had a come-from-behind victory in Schuylkill League action against North Schuylkill, 18-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-10.

Devan Sweeney led Tamaqua with 16 service points, while also chipping in nine aces, six kills and three digs. Carly Trovinger added 16 assists to go along with 12 service points. Derrian Gulden had 13 service points and Jackie Valasek added five kills.

Schuylkill Haven won the JV game, 2-0.

Marian

-Williams Valley

Marian swept Williams Valley in Schuylkill League action, 25-6, 25-14, 25-5.

Emily Pilla had 11 kills and four aces for Marian. Sophie Meyers added three kills and one ace.

Marian also won the JV game, 2-0.

Lehighton

-Stroudsburg

Stroudsburg took three of four games en route to winning its MVC volleyball match with Lehighton, 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 25-23.

Jackie Jordan led the Indians with 19 digs to go along with her nine kills. Teammate Tiff Thompson paced the locals with 12 kills while adding eight digs, three aces and three blocks. Tia Rex chipped in with seven kills.

Lehighton drops to 8-3 on the year.

FIELD HOCKEY

Bangor-No. Lehigh

Emily Howell scored with 30 seconds remaining in overtime to give Bangor a 3-2 win over Northern Lehigh in Colonial League action.

The goal completed a hat trick for Howell.

Morgan Farber had a goal and an assist for Northern Lehigh. Erika Mckay had the other goal for Northern Lehigh. Northern Lehigh had 8 shots on goal to Bangor's 11.

Nicole Horn had eight saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
