The Pleasant Valley High School will present its annual drama, "Miracle on 34th Street," at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30; at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1; and again on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.

The group continues to meet at 9 a.m. every Wednesday and Friday at Zion United Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville.

AARP driver safety

The Chestnuthill Township Park Building in Brodheadsville will be open to an AARP Driver Safety Course in December. The eight-hour course will be held in two four-hour segments on Saturday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 8.

Advent by Candlelight

Our Lady Queen of Peace will host Advent by Candlelight at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2. The snow date is Saturday, Dec. 6.

Other area churches will focus on Advent, beginning with Sunday, Dec. 2, the First Sunday of Advent.

The Pleasant Valley Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3 in the district office in Brodheadsville.

The next regular meeting for Operation: Touch of Home is set for 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the American Legion Post Home in Gilbert.

The Pleasant Valley High School Band Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5. The snow date is Thursday, Dec. 6.

Sunday Supper

The next free Community Sunday Supper at Our Lady Queen of Peace, a Christmas Dinner, will be held from 3-4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9.

Sing-Along

Effort UMC will hold an old-fashioned Christmas sing-along and turkey dinner at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, offering free admission. The sing-along will follow dinner. One should call the church at (570) 629-1890 to make a reservation or for more information.

Although the dinner is free, anyone wishing to help the church's St. Nick project may bring an unwrapped Christmas gift suitable for a child age infant through teenager, merchant gift card or freewill donation, which will be appreciated but not required.

The St. Nick project is an annual mission of caring through which the faith community seeks to bring the spirit, love and joy of Christmas to families in the area who are experiencing difficult times, by providing Christmas gifts to each family member.
