State police at Fogelsville reported on two crashes along Lehigh County roads recently investigated by troopers.
A one-vehicle crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, along Interstate 78 in Upper Saucon Township. Troopers said Francis J. Nardone, 53, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata eastbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. Nardone was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front end of the Sonata.
Nardone was not injured but the Sonata had to be towed from the scene.
A three-vehicle crash was reported about 2:48 a.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Court and Jefferson Court, in Lynn Township.
Troopers said Cristino J. Vanegas, 41, of New Tripoli, was driving a 1997 Toyota Celica eastbound on Lincoln when he fell asleep. His vehicle went onto the north shoulder where it struck a parked 2012 Audi Q5 and a 2012 Kia. The Audi is owned by John C. Li, 29, of Arlington, Va., and the Kia by Stephanie A. Mickey, 20, of Walnutport. Both vehicles were illegally parked, troopers noted.
Vanegas was not injured. Troopers said charges are pending against Vanegas.
