Aimee Oertner, a 2012 graduate of Northern Lehigh High School, was named the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week on Nov. 12. The honor followed Oertner's debut in the Army basketball team's opener, where she collected a double-double to lead the Black Knights to a 65-62 victory at Wagner.

Coming off the bench, the cadet shot 7-for-11 from the field for 18 points and a game high 12 rebounds. The 6'2" forward/center also swatted four shots in the 30 minutes she was in the game. Oertner is the first freshman to record a double-double in a season opener in program history and the first team member to achieve this statistical feat since 2003.

The daughter of Dave and Beatrice Oertner of Slatington, she is the granddaughter of Robert and Salvatrice Zaraca of Tamaqua and Walter and Doris Oertner of Slatington.
