"None of the Above," a cappella singing group from Penn State University's State College Campus will be performing two mini concerts this Monday, Nov. 19. The concerts are being held in the Tamaqua Area School District Auditorium for students in the middle and senior high school.
The group features Drew Bonner, a 2010 graduate of Tamaqua High School. N.O.T.A. performs a wide variety of vocal music selections from classic pop to contemporary arrangements of today's best music. The concert for the middle school will begin at 9:10 and end at 9:40. The concert for the high school will begin at 10:00 and end at 10:30.
Bonner sings tenor and has been a member of the a cappella group since 2011. The Penn State junior is the son of Joe and Sandy Bonner of Tamaqua and is also a member of the Penn State Blue Band, where he plays the euphonium.
N.O.T.A is the university's oldest co-ed a cappella group, founded in 1991 by Penn State grad student Robin Wynn. The singing group is completely student run.
John Buglio, TASD music teacher and choir director, noted that N.O.T.A "also performed for district students last year, then held a vocal work shop with chorus members from grades 6 through 12. The students enjoyed it so much that they've been invited back to perform for the entire student body, faculty and community."
The concerts will also be open to the public, but anyone attending must use the auditorium entrance and sign in.
