Family and friends of Jamie Folweiler of Tamaqua organized a Jamboree benefit for him recently at the West Penn Rod and Gun Club in West Penn. After a kidney and bladder infection had put Folweiler out of commission for a number of weeks, he was admitted to Gnaden Huetten Hospital because the infections had entered his blood stream. Since Folweiler is wheelchair bound, skin break down is a daily battle. Doctors discovered that he had MRSA a bacterium responsible for several difficult-to-treat infections in a wound and spent seven days in the ICU before being transferred to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. The event consisted of many activities; such as a motorcycle ride, Chinese auction, games, food and plenty of music. In additon to sponsors and the many visitors, jamboree organizers also stated their appreciations to musicians and bands DJ MIXX, Sean McGeehan, Mike Kernan, Shawn Walker, Sticky Frog, Nemesis, YMI A DUO, Bwahaha and others who donated their time.
