Marian National Honor Society holds induction

Marian Catholic High School's Robert F. Kennedy Chapter of the National Honor Society recently held induction ceremonies, welcoming 36 new members to the chapter. Members were selected by the chapter's Faculty Council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character. "We are very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body. National Honor Society members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community, "said Mrs. Catherine McDonald, chapter adviser. The Marian Catholic High School chapter has been active since 1974. Each year the chapter sponsors several service projects for the school and community, which in the last few years have included St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile, tutors for students, etc. The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. Chapters exist in more than 15,000 schools and since 1921, millions of students have been selected for membership. This national student recognition organization is proudly sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
