Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St, Lehighton will hold a 9 a.m. Sunday worship service with Holy Communion, children's sermon and infant baptism, led by the Rev. David A. Newman. Coffee house fellowship follows.

A nursery will be available during the 9 a.m. worship service for children through age 6, staffed with an experienced caregiver who is trained in CPR & first aid and a youth volunteer.

There will be no Sunday School Power Hour on Nov. 18 in order for church members to attend the annual congregational meeting starting at 10:30 a.m.

This is a time for election of church lay leaders and other business such as the budget.

There will be updates about the pastoral vacancy, and information about the process of calling a new pastor.

Upcoming events at Trinity includes a Community pre-Thanksgiving Service, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Worship will be led by the Rev. Chris deForest, pastor of St John's, Mahoning Township, and the Rev. Anthony Pagatto, pastor at Dinkey Memorial, Ashfield. The public is invited to attend.

Advent Cantata "The Voices of Christmas" by Joseph Martin will be performed by combined choirs and a full orchestra including a harpist at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov 25.

This is a keen opportunity to be up-close to members of an orchestra without being in a "symphony hall" setting.

The young people who attend the Sunday School Power Hour will present their program "The Christmas Story" during the 9 a.m. Dec. 9 worship service.

Seasonal decorating of the church takes place 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15. Volunteers are welcome to participate in the hanging of the greens and adorning two live trees with lights and "Christmon" ornaments.
