Boy scouts throughout the area went door-to-door on Saturday distributing tags with information for this year's "Scouting for Food" campaign. It is being sponsored by Boy Scouts of America, Minsi Trails Council.

Billed as "the area's largest one-day food drive," donations will be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon. All food collected will help local food banks in the area.

Residents are asked to place food in a bag – along with the tag that they received on Saturday – and put it where it can be easily seen from the street by 8 a.m. for pick-up by the scouts.

All donations must be non-perishable foods only – canned foods; baby formula; dry goods and food; and paper products. Glass jars and expired foods will not be accepted.
