John and Bertha Meckes of Jim Thorpe are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today.

They were married May 24, 1952 at Christ

U.C.C. Church in Jim Thorpe.Mrs. Meckes is the former Bertha Heckman, daughter of the late Mary and Asher Heckman.Mr. Meckes is the son of late John Sr. and Suzie Meckes.The couple has one daughter Renee, wife of Michael Seyfried, Lehighton.The couple also has twin grandsons, Christopher, married to Rebeka Melber Seyfried of Erie and Gregory of Lehighton.A family dinner is planned to celebrate the event.
