Students were recognized for winning first place in the American Legion Auxiliary Americanism Essay Contest at the Four County County Council level. The wrote on the topic, "How Can I Show my Patriotism to My Community?" The students recently were honored at a luncheon held at the Brown and Lynch American Legion Post 9, Easton. Also a winner was Emily Schaude, a 10th grade student at Lehighton Area High School and representing Lehighton Legion Auxiliary Unit 314. Their essays are now on the state level of judging.
