State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes probed on Monroe County roadways.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 2:27 p.m. on April 29 along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Ethel B. Smale, 87, of Bangor, and Dorothy M. Hippler, 56, of Scotrun, were both northbound when the front of Smale's 1999 Honda Accord struck the rear of Hippler's 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier.

Smale and her husband, Russell, 87, and Hippler, were all injured and taken by West End ambulance to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. Troopers cited Smale for traveling at an (un) safe speed.

Troopers investigated a two vehicle crash about 10:08 a.m. at the intersection 209 and Rodenbach Lane, in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said Cynthia J. Johnson, 69, of Kunkletown, failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and her 1996 Subaru Legacy was struck by a 2006 GMC Yukon driven by Linda Poccia, 57, of Saylorsburg.

Both drivers were injured and treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel.

Troopers cited Johnson for the stop sign violation.
