Taylor named PSU Hazleton Men's Basketball MVP

Penn State Hazleton Campus Director of Athletics Dr. Thomas Caccese with Tamaqua graduate Michael Taylor, who was named mens basketball MVP for the 2011-12 season at Hazleton. Taylor led the team in scoring with a 13.3 points per game average. He also led the team with 56 three-pointers and in steals with 51 for the season. The team finished 11-6 in conference play, 11-7 overall, and shared the PSUAC Northern Division title with Wilkes-Barre campus. Taylor was also named to the PSUAC All Conference team and PSUAC All Academic team for players with a 3.0 average or higher. Taylor received his award at an all sports banquet at the Valley Country Club. He is the son of Mary Ruth and George Taylor of Tamaqua.
