The closure of ramps at exits 131 and 138 to and from I-81 have resulted in an increase in non-local traffic in Hometown and McAdoo. This has also resulted in more incidents, such as is seen here. Rush Township Police Sgt. Duane Frederick cites Alex Cortez of Illinois for driving on a prohibited roadway and leaving the scene of property damage after the driver destroyed multiple signs on SR309 after turning onto Wyoming Street. Police reported that the driver was following directions on his GPS.
