Three vehicles sustain damages

Three vehicles were damaged in a crash at 2:24 p.m. March 8 on Rt. 209 in Branch Township, Schuylkill County, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks,

Police said Robert L. Berger Jr., 46, of Ashland, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox east on the highway at about 30

m.p.h. when he was unable to come to a complete stop as he approached heavy traffic stopped in the left lane of the roadway. Police said he left 42 feet of skid marks on the roadway before the Equinox struck the rear of a 2009 Subaru Impreza driven by Michael L. Verbosh, 29, of llewellyn, which has almost been at a complete stop in the left lane of the roadway. Police said the impact caused the Impreza to strike the rear of a 2001 Toyota Rav 4 operated by Frances M. Balanda, 70, of Kulpmont, who had been stopped in that lane.No one was injured in the crash.Police said Berger will be cited for following too closely.
