Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran and Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville; Salem United Church of Christ, Gilbert; Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, Kresgeville; and St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, Kunkletown, join together for Lenten services. Tonight, services will be held at Salem United Church of Christ, with guest preacher, Pastor William Ellsworth. Wednesday, March 14 services will be at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, with guest preacher, Pastor Deborah Scheffey.
Soup and sandwiches will be served from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and worship services begin at 7:30 p.m.
Tail Waggin' Tutors
Tail Waggin' Tutors for kids to read to dogs will be held at Palmerton Area Library Saturday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to noon. It is free, but parents must preregister for a time slot by calling the library at (610) 826-3424.
At 7 p.m., Monday, March 12, the Palmerton Area Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting in the gallery of the Palmerton Area Library.
Local storyteller Kathy Long will present "The Art of Oral Traditions, both Personal and Legend," following a short business meeting. The public is invited to attend without cost or obligation.
A Nutrition Fair will be held at Blue Mountain Health System's Palmerton Hospital campus, 135 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, March 9. The campaign, sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices, and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. Dietitians from BMHS will present information on how you can include foods from all the food groups that give you the nutrients you need without too many calories. Monday, March 12, at 7 p.m., a PTO meeting will be held at S.S. Palmer Elementary School in the cafeteria.
The next meeting of the Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 13, at the Blue Ridge Country Club in Palmerton.
The guest speaker will be Julia K. Hearthway, secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, who will discuss the state budget and answer questions. This is a "working luncheon" and dress is business casual.

Palmerton Lions to meet
Palmerton Lions will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 19 at the Fireline Hotel.
