State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 25 along Mountain Road in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Gregory M. Kocher, 50, of Wind Gap, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound and failed to negotiate a left hand turn. His vehicle went onto the south shoulder and struck a mailbox at 3178 Mountain Road. Upon impact the vehicle continued east and struck and severed a Met Ed utility pole. Upon impact with the pole the vehicle overturned onto its left side, continued east and struck another mailbox at 3180 Mountain Road.

After striking the second mailbox Kocher traveled north back onto road and came to rest. Kocher then fled the scene, troopers said, but was later located. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Kocher was cited, troopers added.

A one vehicle crash was reported at 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 29 along SR209 (Interchange Road), in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Maria E. Mesko, 28, of Summit Hill, was driving a 2000 Toyota Corolla southbound when she lost control while rounding a slight curve due to slush on the roadway. The car spun off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole with the back end.

Mesko was not injured.

Another one vehicle crash was reported about 11:28 a.m. on Feb. 29 along Pohopoco Drive, near Beltzville State Park, in Towamensing Township. Troopers said Angela M. Hynes, 23, of Kunkletown, was driving a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim westbound near the entrance to the park when she lost control due to snow and ice on the road. The vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on the left side of the road causing the pole to fall over.

Hynes was slightly injured and taken to the Palmerton hospital by Palmerton ambulance. Assisting at the scene were volunteers from the Towamensing Fire Company.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Kristin Branch, 26, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2000 Ford Windstar eastbound when the rear suspension broke causing the vehicle to spin out of control. The vehicle crossed the right lane and struck the guard rail on the south shoulder.

Branch and passengers Anthony C. Shorten, 15, of Jim Thorpe, and David C. Mangual 21, of Philadelphia, were all not injured.

Troopers cited Branch for operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection.
