The 19th annual Relay for Life of Tamaqua and Surrounding Communities kicked off Friday and will continue until 2 p.m. today at the Panther Valley football stadium in Lansford.

This year's relay, which has the theme "Rock The Walk," marks a change of venue from previous years when the event was held at the Hometown Farmers Market.

The event includes a variety of food, games, music and many other activities throughout the 24 hours. Team members and organizers encourage residents to support the event which includes free parking.
