ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Friends, family and teammates came together recently to remember a friend during a basketball tournament and food sale benefit held solely to benefit the family of the late Brett M. Snyder, 35, a Tamaqua native. Brett, who died of oligodendroglioma (brain cancer) in February, was the beloved husband of Kate (Meher) Snyder, loving father of Patrick Meher and devoted son of Terry Sr. and Darlene (Marshall) Snyder. Brett played both basketball and football while attending high school. Tom Case and other key organizers of the event stated their appreciation to all who came out or helped contribute to the benefit, which was held at the North and Middle Ward Playground. Case also stressed his appreciations to Guers Tea, Tommy's Hoagie Shop, Nestle's, Koch's, Verona Pizza in Lansford, Rita's Italian Ice in Hometown, Ziegler's Auto Repair in Tamaqua, park association, Tamaqua Burger King, Delrose Awards and others. Pictured during the benefit were, from left, Tom Case, benefit organizer; Tammy Neff, Brett's sister; Mark Onushco; Mike Taylor; Joe Tamagini; Brian Hayes; and Darlene Snyder, Brett's mother.
