The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) kicked off its annual summer co-ed volleyball league on Thursday evening at Black Diamond Park in Coaldale.

Opening night was dominated by sweeps, as VBC Lehighton Tomahawks, Balls Deep and Sandstorm all picked up three wins apiece.THURSDAY'S RESULTSJust the Tip-VBC Lehighton TomahawksVBC Lehighton Tomahawks posted a three-game sweep of Just the Tip, 25-8, 25-15, 25-20.Terry Haberman had 20 service points and 10 aces to lead the Tomahawks while TJ O'Connor added 11 service points with seven aces.
