A Carbon County man died on Sunday morning after he got pinned between two vehicles. The incident occurred along Bear Creek Drive in Penn Forest Township.
Coroner Bruce Nalesnik identified the victim as Brian McCorriston, 59.
According to Nalesnik, McCorriston was driving to his mailbox, located a distance from his home, when his vehicle got stuck in a ditch.
McCorriston and a friend, not identified, returned to the scene and attempted to get his vehicle out of the ditch. The two used a rope to pull the car out but it didn't work.
They then attached a chain to a second vehicle and tried to pull out the stuck vehicle. Nalesnik said a miscommunication occurred and McCorriston got pinned between the two vehicles. He died at the scene.
Nalesnik ruled the death accidental and said there would be no autopsy performed.
