Lehighton police reported on the following arrests by for driving under the influence (DUI).
Police said on Feb. 25 about 1:55 a.m. Todd W. Kerschner, 43, of 1923 Long Run Rd., Lehighton, was observed driving in a careless manner and in the wrong lane on SR443 at Blakeslee Blvd. East.
He was stopped and arrested. Given a test, the result was .18BAC. He was also charged with driving with an expired license, and careless driving.
Police said Jessica Valentini, 34, of 422 School St., Jim Thorpe, was arrested for DUI as a result of an accident in the 500 block of Bridge St. on April 20, about 11:04 p.m. It was stated that Valentini received a text message on her phone, which was on the floor, and when she reached down to pick it up, the vehicle veered to the right and struck a utility pole. She was given a test, which revealed a .15BAC. She was also charged with carelss driving.
Tiffani Kuhns, 22, of 3501 W. Fairview St., Allentown, has been charged with DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, corruption of minors, and selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverages to a minor.
Police said Kuhns was stopped on Feb. 18 in the 200 block of S. First St. In the vehicle with Kuhns was a highly intoxicated 17-year-old female. Kuhns admitted purchasing a bottle of Jagermeister and sharing it with the juvenile along with smoking marijuana. The juvenile was cited for underage drinking. Kuhns submitted to a blood test which resulted in a .37BAC, and also showed the presence of marijuana in her systerm.
