A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Monday, July 30, following a domestic assault incident.

State police at Frackville were called to 249 W. Preston Ave., Girardville, about 9 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute.

On scene the victim, a 24-year-old female whose name was not released, claimed her husband, James Rooney, 26, had subjected her to physical contact and during the course of the dispute, she claimed a firearm was involved. Troopers noted she showed no signs of injuries.

Rooney was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangering another person, and harassment. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Carol Pankake, of Tremont, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $20,000 bail.
