Two persons awaiting trail on criminal charges entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court this week.
Robert Perez, 36, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of simple assault. He was arrested by Lansford police on Sept. 24, 2007, for an incident at Bertsch and Chestnut streets, with Harry Dale the listed victim.
In exchange for the plea the district attorney's office dropped charges of aggravated assault, another count of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and two counts of harassment. The case has a long history in the system with court records showing a total of 19 continuances being granted.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted the plea but deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation (PSI) report.
Nicole L. Reabold, 28, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of bad check, as a summary offense. She was arrested by Jim Thorpe police for issuing a bad check on Aug. 1, 2008, drawn on the Mauch Chunk Bank for $235 and issued to Mark Reitz.
She was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program for first time offenders but that was revoked for failure to complete all conditions.
Nanovic imposed a fine of $100 and costs.
