Mahoning police report incidents

Several incidents were investigated by the Mahoning Township Police Department during the past few months.

On Sept. 30, a Lower Towamensing Township resident told police that while at the Excel Health Care Center in the 1600 block of Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East for a doctor's appointment, her navy blue Columbia hooded waterproof jacket was stolen. The jacket has a value of about $100. A set of car keys was in the pocket of the jacket.On Sept. 29, police stopped a vehicle because it allegedly was following another car too closely. Driving the vehicle that was stopped was Nathan Eroh, 25, of Bertsch Street, Lansford. When the Mahoning officer did a routine NCIC check, it was found that Eroh was wanted by the U.S. Army for desertion since 2009. He was arrested and taken to the Carbon County Correctional facility, to be turned over to U.S. Army authorities.Nicole Borger, 30, of SR903, Jim Thorpe, was charged with retail theft as a result of an incident on Sept. 30 at Wal-Mart. She allegedly stole two packs of pens valued at about $7.84 and a purse with a value of about $12.Also charged at Wal-Mart was Tara Jean Miller, 30, of Saylorsburg. She was cited for trespassing. Police said she had a previous involvement with Wal-Mart in Hometown, during which she was given a "no trespass" notice not to enter any Wal-Mart store.
