A Monroe County woman is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 11:38 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, at Echo Lake Road at SR196 in Tobyhanna.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said they were dispatched to the above location for a rear-end type crash in which the striking driver fled the scene. The driver of the other involved vehicle was able to secure the registration number of the other vehicle.Police said the registration led to Jessica L. Carl, 39, of Pocono Pines. She was located at her residence nearby and admitted being involved in the collision. Carl was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. She was then transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results. She will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and following too closely, police said.
