Retail theft

The following incidents of retail theft have been reported by area police.

• State police at Fogelsville said Clayton Stauffer, 60, of Lehighton, was arrested Tuesdayat the Walmart store in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, at 2:17 p.m. Troopers said he attempted to steal $75.48 worth of merchandise from the store.• State police at Fern Ridge said Marygrace Elizabeth Conarty, 34, of Albrightsville, attempted to steal various items from the Dollar General Store, located at 2592 Route 903, in Penn Forest Township, around 2:30 p.m. on March 10. She was observed by the store manager before she left the parking lot and was taken into custody. Total value of the items was $13.98. Charges were filed.• State police at Fern Ridge said Scott Thomas Taylor, 50, of 1110 Bracts Road, Effort, Monroe County, was observed on store surveillance at Kinsley ShopRite in Brodheadsville, tearing open a 10-pack of 5HR energy drinks and placing three of them into his coat pocket. He was then observed hiding the packaging in a separate aisle. Charges were filed.
